The photos in this LO I took last January soon after my new camera
arrived. The Westhaven Marina, situated right next to the Auckland
Harbour Bridge, is not far along the waterfront from where the
America's Cup was held in 2000.

I was delighted when I woke yesterday morning to find my
LO of Sunday's walk had been chosen as the Layout of the
Day at DSP, what a lovely surprise that was.

These two are from our last week's walk in Parnell on a beautiful
nearly spring day. After lunch in the village we walked through
the lovely Rose Gardens (no roses yet) and down to Judges Bay.

This is our walk up two of the over 50 volcanoes in
Auckland in January 2007 - our summer. Views
are of the city and out to Rangitoto in the Hauraki
Gulf - taken from Mt Eden and One Tree Hill.

This was an early morning walk while in Whangarei in May 2007.

All of these were taken on our trip to Thames for the
Queen's Birthday long weekend 1-5 June 2007.

Some of the birds of NZ, all photos taken by me. I've used
the Maori names where known. The Tieke is a stuffed
one in the Auckland Museum, all the others are alive. The
Rosella is an Australian visitor although now colonised here.

The Manawa Wetlands are just around the corner from home in New Lynn, I love to go there and stalk the birds with my camera!

On Good Friday, 6 April 2007, we drove to Raglan, these are some of the sights we saw on the way. It was a beautiful warm Indian summer/autumn day.

On the 28 Dec 2003 we stopped in the beautiful Karangahake Gorge to look at this footbridge over the Ohinemuri River (the place of weeping waters). Karangahake = meeting of the hunchbacks (referring to the cluster of low hills in the vicinity). Photos taken with old Sony cyber-shot point & shoot.

The photos in this layout were taken with my old point & shoot before I bought my Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H2.

Spring DownUnder in 2006

28 August 2007

I didn't have far to walk for this one! Just out my back door to watch the eclipse of the moon tonight. Unfortunately there was a lot of cloud cover coming & going and as it was so cold outside I didn't bother setting up a tripod - wish I had now because all the photos were blurred!

These three are the start, half way and full eclipse - I had to use a different setting for the full eclipse photo because the manual setting wouldn't pick it up!

A Not Quite Spring Day in Long Bay

Last Sunday Dennis & I drove to Long Bay on the North Shore where we had lunch in the restaurant on the beach. The food was superb, I had Smoked Salmon Fishcake topped with pesto hollandaise sauce and caviar, simply delicious, Dennis had the all day breakfast! It was a lovely although a bit chilly day, not quite Spring yet. After lunch we went for a walk along the coast to Grannys Bay, just a short one this time seeing we'd just had lunch, we intend to come back and do the 3 hour walk another day. Thanks to Sharon for the inspiration to start my PhotoWalking.
These are a few of the photos I took.
